Star House!

Nov 10 ’09

The star house game started when my wife & I noticed houses in our hometown of Effingham, IL being adorned with metal barn stars. It became so noticeable that we began pointing them out to one another. Then our observations became competitive as we strove to find more star houses. This game was eventually shared to my sister-in-law who has passed it along to her friends. Now we all hope you will play too.

Rules:

  • Only metal, three dimensional stars count like the following.

  • Credit for the find goes to the individual that first yells “star house”.
  • Star houses can only be discovered once. This blog is the official record. If it isn’t here then it is fair game. At least one photo is required for each submission.
  • Don’t forget to include the location of your find. Please do not get more specific than city or zip code.
  • The game isn’t limited to houses. You can find sheds & barns but they must be called appropriately.
  • Don’t forget to include a multiplier if applicable. For example, “Double star house!”
  • The a high star size to building size ratio is more valuable that the opposite. For example, a small shed with a huge star is more better than a large house with a little star.
